4 Micromax Canvas 4 A210, In Budget Galaxy S4 Replica!

Micromax (MMX) created a good biz in Indian market with their Canvas series. In 2012 Micromax first launched its Canvas smartphone and it worked pretty well. Considering an average Indian budget, their pricings are really attractive. Micromax's devices such as A110, A110 Superfone, A116 Canvas HD, A115 Canvas 3D were largely admired. With best value for money Micromax always trying to compete with higher end phone makers with pricing and yet providing excellent features. Canvas 4 (Canvas 4 A210) is a new flagship model in Micromax lineup.

Canvas 4 has 5 Inch HD IPS display with 1280x720 resolution and 294ppi density. Display provides good color production with wide viewing angles. It also has Gorilla Glass protection. It provides great aspect ratio of 16:9. Canvas 4 boosts 1.2 GHz quad core Mediatek MTK6589 (Cortex A7) processor with 1GB RAM. It has a great 13Mp primary camera with LED flash and 5Mp front facing one. It works on latest Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It has 2000 mAh battery. Canvas 4 has modified UI and it works smooth. Phone has brushed aluminum body feel but most of it is made of plastic.

Its whopping 13Mp camera is equipped with Sony's Exmor sensor which is present in higher end phones. Camera can be launched from the locked screen as well. Easy navigation is very useful to go through different camera settings. Camera captures pretty decent shots with deep details. Canvas 4 is fully capable of recording HD 1080p recordings. It also has Electronics Image Stabilization (EIS). Its burst mode is cool and captures 99 shots in one go.


With M! Unlock app one can unlock the phone just by blowing air or shaking the device. Other unlocking options include Face unlock, Pattern, Slide, PIN and password and voice unlock. It has a Daydream feature that works as a screensaver when phone is in charging state. Phone allows Smart Gesture features such as Proximity Answer Phone, Proximity Dial Phone, Upside Silent and Upside Speaker.

Its comes with great pre-loaded apps such as Opera Mini, Foneclay, Hike messenger, Kingsoft office, Spuul. Gamings include The Dark M, Fruit Devil, NFS Shift. Canvas 4 comes with NQmobile mobile security software for support against virus and online threats.

Benchmarking
Quadrant Benchmark has put Canvas 4 above A116, Celkon A119Q, Xolo Q1000, Zen Ultrafone, Spice Mi 535, Xolo Q700 and Galaxy Grand Duos. AnTuTu rates Canvas 4 at third place keeping Celkon A110Q and Zen Ultrafone at top places. Vellamo have rated Xolo Q1000 on top and Canvas 4 on second place, keeping Zen Ultrafone at third place. Vallamo 2.0 ranks Canvas 4 on second place.

An overall bench-marking index shows Canvas 4 to have best performance compared to other peers and surely a great device at this price range.

To buy or not? Slightly overpriced...

Micromax Canvas 4 is upgrade version of A116 HD and inspiration of Samsung's Galaxy S4. At this price tag Canvas 4 is almost 4500 Rs. more than its predecessor A116 Canvas HD. Furthermore both phones have same processor and display quality. But it is 1.8 mm thinner than A116. Due to overall new features, Canvas 4 surely performs well compared to A116. Release of Canvas 4 is no big deal but it comes with cool gesture features similar to Galaxy 4, modified UI and better software support. it has similar display quality which is seen in A116 HD but it is just good. Even Pinnacle HD, Wickedleaks Wammy Z+, Xolo Q1000S and few more provides excellent display quality at better price.

Micromax's latest release was supposed to have FULL HD display with more battery support. Let’s expect this from their later release. Overall Canvas 4 has excellent features compared to higher end phones and it’s a real value for money. Micromax has no concerns with their overall quality and definitely a recommended high end device.
