Panasonic P51 Review, Excellent 5" Smartphone with 1.2GHz Quad-Core, 1GB RAM, Dual SIM, Android Device
Panasonic (Japanese Electronic Major) recently launched its P51 smartphone device in Indian market (May 2013). P51 surely has great first impression. It has excellent overall built quality with good specs. It features unibody design. Phone is slightly wider compared with other similar size smartphones. At price tag of Rs. 22,500 P51 is a bit costlier with these specs.

Panasonic P51 feels a premium device with full glass top and matte plastic back. It has great 5 inch 720p IPS display. Device measures 8.5 mm thick and just 135g in weight. It uses non-fingerprint magnet material. It has Asahi Dragon Trail glass on top which is preferred over Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance. Phone is equipped with 8 Mp camera with autofocus and LED flash, which is capable of recording full HD 1080p videos. It also has 1.3 Mp front facing camera. It has microSD slot memory expansion and volume rockers on the sides. It has 3.5 mm audio jack with two slots for micro-SIM cads and micro USB connection. Its media player does not support an Mp4 format which is annoying compared to most others.

P51 has 1.2 GHz quad core processor with PowerVR 544 GPU and 1GB RAM. It comes with 4GB internal storage with microSD slot for expansion up to 32GB. Phone supports Dual SIM (GSM) Quad-Band. One can use two micro SIMs but 3G+GPRS combination. P51 works on latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2 Operating System. There are no much change over UI except icons. Display is excellent with great color production and wide viewing angles. Display also has oleaophobic layer which gives smudge free experience. Images look sharp and vibrant even in outdoor environment.
P51 has quick start feature which enable full start in less than 10 seconds. Its MediaTek quad core processor disappoints with slightly lower performance in current competition. Even it has just 4GB internal storage; however it can be expanded with microSD. P51 is certainly not for gaming lovers at these specs.  Panasonic have addressed the battery issues with android based devices and hence phone comes with big 2500 mAh battery which performs again better in comparison.

Panasonic P51 provides good competition except the higher price at these specs. Overall phone is great; its finish and display is excellent showing a real Panasonic branded product. Hopefully Panasonic will bring higher specs smartphone model in near future. Other phones to compare are Micromax Canvas HD, Xolo Q1000 which are again very low priced with similar specs.

Benchmarking indices compares P51 almost similar to Galaxy Grand Duos, whilst P51 is much better in overall experience.

Inside the box, it comes with magnetic cover, charger, data cable and a stylus. P51 looks similar to LG's Nexus 4 from distance. Phone has internal 2500 mAh Non removable battery.
